Iron Ox Produce Now Available in Texas
Iron Ox Texas-grown fresh produce is now available at Whole Foods Market locations in the Austin area.
We’ve been working on this one for a while, so we’re thrilled to announce that our fresh produce is now on store shelves in the Austin area, and by next week, we’ll be available across the Southwest region! That means not only Texas, but we’ll also soon be available to our first customers in nearby Louisiana, Arkansas, and Oklahoma.
Starting today, our Texas-grown fresh produce is now available at Whole Foods Market locations in the Austin area, as well as Milkrun, Farmhouse Delivery, and Good Things Grocery – all grown in our new Lockhart greenhouse, which is now our largest location – and it’s not even done!
Like our first greenhouse in Gilroy, California, our newest state-of-the-art greenhouse utilizes robotics, AI, plant science, and natural sunlight, enabling an estimated 90% less water, 75% less electricity than LED-based vertical farms, and 15x more food per acre than field farms. And the results: delicious! Fresh, vibrant produce that’s available in stores quickly after it’s harvested, with no long shipping delays between our greenhouse and your plate.
“We sell out of our produce grown in Iron Ox’s Gilroy, CA greenhouse every week thanks to Whole Foods Market locations in northern California and we are beyond thrilled to expand into their Texas locations, Iron Ox’s brand new Texas facility is the blueprint for sustainable, scalable farming near urban centers across the nation and strengthens our mission of making our food system scalable, secure, and sustainable.”
